A practical start
with Hiso Subtitler.
Use this guide to prepare for a demo and understand the workflow. Exact settings can vary by product version.
Start with a well-formed SRT file
Open the subtitle file and confirm that the cue numbers, timestamps and source text look correct before starting translation.
Set the language and context
Choose the language direction. Add a short story summary and genre, then add character profiles, forms of address or terminology when they matter.
Translate in manageable projects
Keep related subtitle files organized as separate projects. For several files, use the queue and monitor each project’s state.
Review the translated cues
Check meaning, names, consistency and readability. Inspect flagged or missing lines and make the necessary edits.
Export and review with the video
Export the translated SRT. Watch it with the video to catch timing, line-length or context issues that are hard to see in text alone.
